The Sam Strahan Memorial Sheep Dog Trials Challenge in association with PTS Logistics

In the past five years, an increasing number of women have taken up Dog Trials. In 2021 we pay homage to their efforts and success in the fields, hills, and yards. 

Four of New Zealand’s leading women will take on the men.

First woman competitor to win an Island (North or South) tittle in the Hunterway event.

Bex Scragg

Finalist in the sportswoman of the year two years ago in dog trials and placed second in a previous National Sheep Dog Championship.

From Whanganui

Kathryn Oliver

Runs her own hill country farm near Raetihi.

From King Country

Robyn Stephens

Robyn is a retired school teacher and grandmother who is the daughter of Les Knight a legend in dog trials.
