America’s Cup lays anchor at Hilux New Zealand Rural Games

The America’s Cup will be coming to Palmerston North for the annual Hilux New Zealand Rural Games, as part of Emirates Team New Zealand’s 25 year partnership with Toyota New Zealand.

Emirates Team New Zealand’s tactician, Ray Davies along with Guy Endean and Simon van Velthooven, both Emirates Team New Zealand’s cyclors, will also be accompanying the Auld mug.

The Hilux New Zealand Rural Games, run from 10th to 11th of March, is New Zealand’s premier celebration of rural sport, and is a great weekend of entertainment and heaps of opportunities to have a go for all ages.

“The Hilux New Zealand Rural Games celebrates our strong and vibrant rural history,” says Andrew Davis, Toyota New Zealand’s General Manager of Marketing.

“The iconic Toyota Hilux has been a big part of our rural communities over the years so it’s a natural fit and we are very proud to back the Games.”

The America’s Cup will feature as part of the Toyota Kids Zone, while members of the public will be able to have their photo taken with the Auld Mug and the Emirates Team New Zealand team members at advertised times.

“We are excited to be able to showcase the America’s Cup at our Kids zone this year” says Davis.

Hilux ambassador, Marc Ellis, will also be at the Toyota Kids Zone participating in the water dunk game, a new addition to the Toyota zone.

Toyota New Zealand will have three zones at the games; Toyota kids zone, a hospitality tent with a Toyota coffee zone and a test drive zone.

Hilux customers will have exclusive access to a Hilux only parking zone, running along the Church Street side of the Square, where the games are held.
