Life After Racing

Meet some of the passionate team from Harness Racing New Zealand, dedicated to the cause of Life After Racing. This charitable initiative is committed to providing retired Standardbred Race Horses with loving homes.

You can meet us at the Games on Saturday. Come between 2 pm and 4 pm at the hitching posts near the Plaza Corner of The Square. We’ll be accompanied by two remarkable equine companions:

• Call Security: A horse set to grace the tracks at Manawatū Race Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, 08-09 March.
• Chevy (paddock name) Midnight Hour (racing name): This horse serves as the Clerk of the Course’s trusted companion at Manawatū. It recently had the honour of leading the winner at the Wellington Gallops.

Standardbreds across New Zealand continue to excel in various equestrian disciplines post-racing.
